Grace Hawk "Pieter Claesen (1625-1694) was the ancestor of the Wyckoff family. He was born at Boda, Oland, an island off the coast of Sweden. He came to New York with his father, Claes Cornelisze, in 1637. He later adopted the surname "Wyckoff." Descendants lived in New York, New Jersey, Indiana, California, Iowa, Idaho, and elsewhere."
